The wellbeing platform a company gives its crew
An employer-provided wellbeing platform for offshore workforces, built in Flutter. Companies give it to their crews; it stays non-clinical, private to the individual, and works with no signal.

Thirty seconds, no signal, no counsellor
Offshore Minds is bought by the employer and used by the worker, which is the tension the whole product has to hold. Companies have a duty of care to crews working rotations that wreck sleep, in a culture where admitting you are struggling carries a cost, on installations where the connection drops for hours. A tool that feels like surveillance gets ignored; one that feels clinical gets avoided. It had to be neither.

Three constraints pulled against each other. Connectivity offshore is intermittent, so anything that needs a server at the moment of use is worthless. The content had to stay explicitly non-clinical, because the moment an app claims to treat anything it takes on regulatory weight and, more practically, workers stop opening it. And the time available is not twenty minutes of meditation; it is the gap between two tasks.
Everything ships on the device, so the app behaves identically with the radio off. Onboarding asks for the role (drilling, production, maintenance, safety) and tailors what follows, because fatigue reads differently to a driller than to a safety operator. The recovery library is graded by how much time you actually have: five to ten minutes for a full wind-down, but also a 30-second three-breath reset, a 90-second shoulder release, and a one-minute grounding exercise. Language stays deliberately ordinary throughout: check-in, reset, reflection. The journal counts streaks rather than symptoms.
A wellbeing tool that survives the environment it was built for: usable with no signal, short enough to fit a real shift, and framed so that opening it does not feel like admitting to a diagnosis.
