Thirty-seven steps, one card

MyNaviLife walks a child through their day: waking, getting ready, meals, activities, appointments, winding down. A typical plan runs to nearly forty steps, and handing a child a list of forty things is the fastest way to make them close the app. The organising decision was to show exactly one thing at a time, and to make finishing it feel worth doing.

A child may not read fluently, is easily overwhelmed by choice, and at some point may need an adult quickly. Each of those pulls the design in a different direction: fewer words, fewer options, but faster access to help. The escalation path is not one number either. A carer, a care unit, a non-urgent medical line and emergency services are each right at different moments, and choosing between them is exactly what a frightened child cannot do.

The home screen shows the day as one figure and one card: Do This Next, with the time and a speaker button, because reading is optional rather than required. The full plan is still reachable, just never the first thing you meet. Help is a persistent floating control on every screen, never inside a menu, and the help screen opens with 'You are safe' before presenting contacts in escalation order, from the carer and care unit through the non-urgent medical line to emergency services, each with both call and message. Share My Location sits at the bottom for when a child cannot say where they are. Progress is handled as stars and unlockable badges, so the day reads as encouragement rather than a chore list.

A day that would overwhelm as a list becomes a sequence of single, spoken steps a child can actually follow, with the safeguarding path always one tap away wherever they are in the app, with one Flutter codebase serving both stores.
